Prayer Requests (Haze)

While we may be affected by the haze, please remember to pray for:

- Wisdom for the Indonesian government to do the right thing about the haze.
- Indonesians who are also suffering from the damaging effects of the haze.
- Animals within the region which have lost their habitat and are similarly suffering.
- Young, elderly, those with existing respiratory ailments, the homeless and those who mainly work outdoor, to be able to overcome this hazardous condition.

Personal Perspective on CHC Fiasco

My personal perspective on the City Harvest Church fiasco: #1. God is omnipresent (present everywhere), omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing) and God knew about this episode. I believe God is watching.; #2. The CAD does not charge without concrete evidence (they have taken sufficient time to investigate - 2 years). May justice prevail.; #3. It is unavoidable for members of the public with little information about Christianity to judge.  It is also one of my weaknesses to be quick to judge/form negative impression about others, which is unhealthy.; #4. Outliers

Okie, I have to say how amazing this book really is. (It's 1 of those very few books which I took less than a month to complete my reading) Anybody who has a few moments to spare everyday should most definitely read this. This book is revolving around the subject, "Why are successful people successful?" There are quite a handful of examples and studies to support the points Malcolm Gladwell was trying to prove. Let me share about what I have learned - "They (Successful people) are products of history and community, of opportunity and legacy. (...) It is grounded in a web of advantages and inheritances, some deserved, some not, some earned, some just plain lucky - but all critical to making them who they are." quoted from Page 334. I highly recommend you to read this. In fact I'm such a fan after this book that I bought Mr. Gladwell's other books, "The Tipping Point" & "Blink". Pam Petite
