Engaged to Mr Koh

Nat proposed to me on 28th July 2012, 9.05pm with the witness of my best friends, Xue Ying and Gillian and his buddies, Bernard, Choong Yong, and Terence.  Our friends helped with the process of the proposal. Heartfelt thanks to all the preparation work for the proposal night to be a success! :) In a nutshell, Nat surprised me at The Dempsey Brasserie with this video .  Following that, he made a declaration of love, got down on 1 knee and proposed.  He is very sweet and I responded with, "definitely, I do."  I must have been the happiest person on earth that very moment! Here are some photographs... Thank you for reading. Wishing all happiness and pink of health! :) Pam

Update: Writings

Hi readers, I have posted a new page, " Writings ". Do have a look when you have time to spare.  Writing flash fiction and prose used to be my seasonal hobby for the past few years but I have become busy and lazy lately.  Perhaps it is also due to the fact I felt I am lacking in my range of vocabulary to describe the visual and emotional side of things.  But I believe that if I want to improve, I need to read widely and practice writing essays more frequently. Shall post more writings when I have time.  Meanwhile, hope you are enjoying what you read on this blog. Pam

Religions

I find it intriguing to know that there are 10 major religions listed on the Inter-Religious Organisation (Singapore) website.   I did not know about Jainism and also do not know of anyone of that faith.  But will I go and find out more?  Is there a motivation?  Personally, I am quite a curious individual and I would like to get to know people from different walks of life.  However, the motivation to attend activities and gatherings organised by the various organisations is little.  It is not in contradiction with what I have mentioned earlier.  It is just that I have priorities and I would rather spend time with people and things that matter than attending these functions.  On the other hand, if I have friends who invite me to their places of worship or share with me about their religion, I would be glad enough to visit and listen. Someone once told me religion separates people.  Coming from a traditional protestant background, I have been educated at a relatively tender age th

I Think I Wanna Marry You... Nat!

(Photo Credit: @Hope Stanley via Pinterest) As of today, Nat and I have been together for 295 days. From day 0 to 295, I have increased my level of fondness for Nat with each passing day. I think I have never experienced a relationship with a man whom I am so certain I want to marry. Anyway, this reminds me of what I heard at a wedding banquet of a former colleague. I can't remember his exact words but I google it (coz I think it must be quoted from somewhere haha).  So here it is (from a second-person's voice): My greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least. It was such a sweet and unforgettable toast! Friends sometimes comment that we are proceeding on too fast. As for me, I don't think it was infatuation neither do I think I want to rush into the stage of life... I thin

Turning Points

Books I borrowed during my lunch break. I'm not sure about you but GE 2011 was a turning point in my life.  There are several major turning points in my life:- #1. Meeting my best friends from Gongshang Primary School. Ladies, you know who you are. Thank you for being in my life and the unforgettable childhood. #2. Receiving Christ as my personal saviour. This is the best decision I have ever made. #3. Getting to know my close sisters from church. All the memories we shared were precious. #4. Having Happy (my dog) in my life. Happy has been in my wish list for 3 years before my parents got her for me during the year which I took my GCE 'O' Level.  The special day was 11th June 2001. #5. Leaving the church I grew up in. I'm not sure how I feel about this but I think my life would have been (a little or more than a little) different if I have stayed on. #6. Relationships that did not feel right. There were ample lesson

Toastmasters rocks!

Visited the Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club for the second time yesterday.  It was once again a very memorable experience.  Like the first time, it has been eye-opening and educational.  I would want to visit it again soon.  The gentleman who sat next to me was from China.  He had been visiting the Mandarin Toastmasters Club.  He was there yesterday because he wanted to learn from others and improve his standard of English. When Nat was making his evaluation speech, I did not expect it to be so good.  It was excellent because it was a well thought evaluation on the content instead of what improvements the speaker could take note of.  I was blown away.  I do not think my opinion and vote was bias because the first time when I witnessed Nat evaluating (a few months back), I did not vote for him. One thing that I really like about Toastmasters is that the audience get to vote for their favourite speaker, evaluator and table topic speaker.  I enjoy this form of par

Monthly Goals

Do you make a list of goals every month and review it at the end of the month? It is something that I have been doing since 2009 and think it is a good practice. Just want to share with you a few of my goals that I list every time and will continue listing for a long time (though it is sometimes challenging to achieve). #1. Daily quiet time with the Lord; #2. Time with family (Happy included); #3. Meaningful time and anniversary with Nat; #4. Tithing and give to my parents; and #5. Complete reading a book. Hope this inspires you to set goals for yourself which are meaningful to you. Have a great day! Pam
