My Choice is Dr Tan Cheng Bock!

I believe I have done sufficient research for the Presidential Election on my part by reading, watching the critical interviews, talked to friends whom I can exchange opinions with and attended Mr Tan Jee Say, as well as Dr Tan Cheng Bock's rally. (I didn't have time to go for the other two rallies) With his integrity and clear stance, I believe he is going to be a good president as he knows his roles as a president very well. Acknowledging this, he is not going to remain a Yes-man, in fact his past record as a MP has proven that he is not. His guiding principle speaks to me, "if something is wrong, I will tell you." Thoughts on: Old and alone in Johor Baru nursing home

Hi readers, I have just read this article: Old and alone in Johor Baru nursing home and I feel really sad about the plight that Madam Kong is facing. Most of us should feel gratitude towards our dear parents (Disclaimer: I'm not referring to people who face child abuse, abandoned by parents etc.) As the standard of living in Singapore increases, I honestly do not know how our future generations are able to handle the stress they would inevitably be encountering. However, under no circumstances should one abandon their loved ones including, parents, children and pets. While some would like to push the blame to the State and other factors, it is not a question of circumstances, not even solely about filial piety but it's about love and responsibility. As mentioned in the article, Madam Kong's son died. My question here is why didn't the son write a will to account for the expenses the stay at the Old Folks' Home would incur? I know there are always a lot of excuses
