July & Life is about Choices

The month of July has insofar been well spent with my loved ones. :)) I feel absolutely blessed to have my close and best friends around me! ~ Life is about Choices I believe that everybody chooses the kind of life they want to live.  A happy and fulfilling one or a sad and self-pitying one.  My wish to all my readers is that if you are holding a grudge against someone (especially people who used to be very close to your heart), let the unhappiness fade slowly; engage in activities which makes you smile, pick up a new skill and think happy thoughts (though it may be hard).  As time goes by, even though you may not forget the past but you have made good use of your time, you learn to see the bigger picture and eventually you may even learn to forgive others and yourself. To sum it up: Live, Love, Laugh! :D I've just came across this article on my facebook news feed and I would love to share it with you here: A father's message from beyond the grave . Pam Petite

Shisha Hysterical

24th July 2011: The 3 "ko"s - Machiko, Pamuko & Rieko went for Manicure & Pedicure!  After our nails beautifying session, we went to have Morrocan food at Arab Street.  Then we ended the day with a blast, we went for Shisha!  That was when all of us started acting funny!  We were laughing hysterically, like as though we were drunk (when in fact we did not take any alcohol at all) and enjoyed ourselves like there's no tomorrow!  :) Great times like these flies!  I wish it lasted longer! The Livestock Farmer & Achieving Goals

22nd July 2011: Hey guys, I just made a loan to a Livestock Farmer, Mr. Khairiddin via Kiva: http://www.kiva.org/lend/316459 From the profile, I understand that Khairiddin wishes to expand his business and he lacked the monetary funds.  What I would love to do is to be a part helping him to fulfill his biggest dream. :)  Everyone has their dreams, so do I and I'm trying my best to work towards my goal!  The Livestock Farmer reminds me that everything is possible!  At this beginning stage, I need perseverance and God's Holy Spirit to guide me the most! :D  Shall do my best and leave it to God! Love, Pam Petite

Article: My response to Tan Jee Say's presidential bid

21st July 2011: With all the hype about the upcoming EP, I have finally come across an article about Mr. Tan Jee Say that is very much non-partisan; My response to Tan Jee Say's presidential bid . If you are mainly an opposition supporter and to a significant extent; partisan, you will most likely be comparing between Mr. Tan Kin Lian and Mr. Tan Jee Say. Mr. Tan Kin Lian has left the PAP cadre since year 2007 while Mr. Tan Jee Say has only joined SDP for a mere 3 months and resigned. With the abovementioned, let me refer to what Ms. Hazel Poa (NSP Secretary General) told The Straits Times, "The opposition National Solidarity Party (NSP) has proposed a change to the Constitution to require presidential candidates to cease being members of political parties at least two years before contesting."  This change if approved should be applied to both ruling party and opposition candidates who are interested to run for presidency, no less. Novelty Act 1: Excursion to Choa Chu Kang Cemetery

16th July 2011 The day I visited Choa Chu Kang Cemetery  for the first time with Gibson & Ian.  The objective of our excursion was to explore and understand the historical site.  Our trip there was a memorable one for us as it allowed us to witness the differences between tombs of various beliefs.  I am a believer of preserving the past and when I read some of the words engraved on some tomb tablets, for a brief moment I felt that I actually have known that person.  :) Just for your interest, this link shows some of the Former Cemeteries in Singapore . I intend to organise more novelty tours for my friends and I to experience and understand Singapore & the world better!  So yes, more events to come! :D ~ In the late afternoon, I went to catch the final series of Harry Potter (and the Deathly Hallows Part II).  Personally, it was pretty well-executed and probably the best out of the entire series. ~ For the past six and a half months, it has been bittersweet, ful

Countdown

14th July 2011 Countdown. This picture speaks a 1,000 words on it own.  I believe that everyday we should do all we can to conserve energy and protect the environment.  With my residential electricity bill and the transportation fares hiking (to be hiking) up significantly, I am getting more worried about how I am going to provide and enhance my family's lifestyle.  What have I been doing to make a difference? #1. Raise awareness to my tuition students; and #2. Doing little things like, switching off lights when I am out of the room, climbing stairs (which I enjoy) etc. To create a change, it always begins with yourself.  To make an impact, it has to be a collective effort.  Be the change you want to see.  Influence others to see a positive change. :) Pam Petite

The Starfish Story & Some Thoughts

The Starfish Story adapted from The Star Thrower by Loren Eiseley (1907 - 1977) Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up. As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean. He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?" The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean." "I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wi

26 - 29th June 2011: Conquering Mount Kinabalu - Unforgettable :D

It has been an eye-opening and unforgettable experience. To climb and conquer Mount Kinabalu with my best friend, Xue Ying and her brother Ray. I enjoyed every minute of the trip. I love our guide, Connie! :) The scenery and the refreshing air at Kinabalu is simply amazing. The people are so welcoming and friendly; they make you feel at home. Though I have to say that the journey to Low's Peak was not an easy one but I am so glad we all made it! Without Connie's assistance, I would never have conquered the mountain. What I gained from this trip:- 1) New friends 2) Being almost lost but met Azmi who helped me find my way back to Laban Rata 3) Trekking in the dark 4) Encounter with a snake 5) Glad I conquered Mount Kinabalu with my best friend, Xue Ying and Ray Pam Petite
