went to my part-time workplace to eat with xue...
indeed dear cooked a large portion...
does he want me to grow fat?? lol...
dear came out to greet us...
it was pleasant...
that was definitely a respectful gesture...
i really appreciate that.

~

got downstairs to get a small bottle of orange juice from 7 eleven and i tell you i was startled as i had my first sip...
the juice tasted like beer and as i withdrew my lips from the straw, i could see some juice spilling out...
i observed the drink and it was effervescence...
i checked out the expiry date and it was printed 24/11/06...
so what the hell was that?
i went in to explain to the cashier and got another bottle...
fortunately, it didn't tasted the same way...
thank God!

~

proceed with our plans for the day and came across a cart that sold hair clips...
you know my fetish for clips...
soon, an exquisite clip caught my eye but it was much higher and further on the cart...
i said to the fairly old man who was assisting to help me get it...
guess what he said??
he exclaimed, "it's expensive."
me: "how much is it?"
no reply while man was then trying to climb on box to get the clip...
clip was passed to me. i looked at the price. $29.90. pretty much reasonable.
it made me wanna fight back by saying you think i don't own a 50 dollar note? you think i can't afford it? lemme show you the cash. see it? but well, i don't wanna buy it... coz your poor service attitude sucks like hell.
sigh~ i didn't say all that.
i handed the clip back as xue asked me was i pissed?
"absolutely pissed off!" i answered, facing the other female assistant.
wah lao! i wondered why i couldn't speak my mind.
i thought too much at the course of the event.
and before i approached the cart a cauasian was there.
the female was busily attending to her and if i didn't mistaken, the male offered to hold the drink in her hand or something.
i tell you, it sucked.
stupid stupid stupid...

~

however, good things did happen too.
company of my best bud, the 3 mins face-to-face conversation with my dear, the food i had, the things xue bought etc.
teeny weeny things like the above mentioned shouldn't ruin my day man...
wahaha...

alrighty. nights! =)

Grandfather Lee: YOUR vision, not mine!

Mr Lee (Kuan Yew) is a well-respected figure in my family.  I shall take a picture of the biographies my parents have religiously bought some other day (maybe I should contribute by purchasing Hard Truths just to complete the collection).  Anyone who studied Singapore history would respect him in some way or another.  However, lately grandfather Lee seemed to be revealing his true self and not bothering much about how the current generation thinks about our society. Here is an article from New Nation, an online magazine I read. Former MM Lee Kuan Yew: The Singapore vision is your vision, not my vision. Pam Petite

Acquaintances with Benefits

When I was young (in upper primary), my birthday wishes were similar.  It was to have many friends.  That could be due to the fact that I am an only child and may feel lonely at times.  Thanks to my best friends (you know who you are), I seldom feel lonely.  I can easily identify who my best friends are.  They are people I would ask for opinions on important decisions I have to make, meet relatively regularly (at least bimonthly, quarterly) for chit-chat and my life would have been very different without them. According to Robin Dunbar , in order to maintain stable social relationships where an individual knows who each person is, and how each person relates to every other person.  Friends are essentially different from acquaintances.  Acquaintances are typically: #1. People whom you may have only met a few times at an event/function; #2. Classmates/schoolmates/coursemates you have encountered casually; #...

Love is Kind

So I went jogging and insisted on continuing even when the heavens gave me clue that it'll pour anytime soon.  It rained and I was drenched.  Since it was getting late, I had to walked on by to get home.  While I was at the traffic junction, a contruction worker sheltered me with his umbrella for a short distance.  I was really touched by his kindness.  Thank you, Lord for showing your love through the people around me.
