The Best Day

Today is Resurrection Sunday, and that it why I am free.  It really has been a while since I wrote anything.  I used to write a lot more, usually in the form of a physical diary.  I would love to write more.  It provides perspective about where I am in life when I do reflections.  Though I have reflections almost every single day.  I think I would enjoy creating an audio/video diary as well since I am quite an audio person.  Back to this blogspot account, I started writing simple thoughts since 25 June 2006.  This June it will be 13 years old.  That is about the time I started my first job after my Polytechnic studies.  Time really flies.  As I revisit my first post, I remember where I was.  It was post-first love breakup.  Back then, it was the darkest time of my life and I took really long to recover from it entirely.  Let's fast forward to now.  A lot have changed and I am in a better place but with different...

A Wife of Noble Character

9th July 2014: Meditating on Proverbs 31:10-31 - A Wife of Noble Character. Thinking of God's will for my life and still seeking for direction. As I was returning home just now, I thought about the various household chores that I needed to do. I used to dread it a lot but yesterday it suddenly occurred to me that it is a blessing to serve my husband this way. Truly, I ask God to remind me to see it as a gesture of loving my husband than thinking of how difficult the tasks can be. When I see my husband's loved ones, I can't help but wonder how blessed I am to be in this closely-knitted family. Sometimes I am too overwhelmed by problems and not look on the bright side. To all who are facing crisis, think about your loved ones and how much they care about you.

Engaged to Mr Koh

Nat proposed to me on 28th July 2012, 9.05pm with the witness of my best friends, Xue Ying and Gillian and his buddies, Bernard, Choong Yong, and Terence.  Our friends helped with the process of the proposal. Heartfelt thanks to all the preparation work for the proposal night to be a success! :) In a nutshell, Nat surprised me at The Dempsey Brasserie with this video .  Following that, he made a declaration of love, got down on 1 knee and proposed.  He is very sweet and I responded with, "definitely, I do."  I must have been the happiest person on earth that very moment! Here are some photographs... Thank you for reading. Wishing all happiness and pink of health! :) Pam

I Think I Wanna Marry You... Nat!

(Photo Credit: @Hope Stanley via Pinterest) As of today, Nat and I have been together for 295 days. From day 0 to 295, I have increased my level of fondness for Nat with each passing day. I think I have never experienced a relationship with a man whom I am so certain I want to marry. Anyway, this reminds me of what I heard at a wedding banquet of a former colleague. I can't remember his exact words but I google it (coz I think it must be quoted from somewhere haha).  So here it is (from a second-person's voice): My greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least. It was such a sweet and unforgettable toast! Friends sometimes comment that we are proceeding on too fast. As for me, I don't think it was infatuation neither do I think I want to rush into the stage of life... ...

Love keeps no record of wrongs

This afternoon I had lunch with Nat. It was quite unusual because he looked troubled. So I asked what happened and we talked. As usual my opinionated self made some comments and there came a sudden interjection. No, we did not get into an argument. As I thought about it, I'm glad we both had at least some discipline to prevent us from becoming the person we don't like. On the way home from work, I reflected on the events of the day. I thought about how sweet Nat was. Any other day I would ask him for lunch and he would willingly travel from City Hall to Bishan. Although it was only for a short 1.5 hour, it was time well-spent. From the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate it. When I reached home and I saw an envelope with Nat's handwriting, I knew it was another poem from him. (He wrote 1 for me during the first week of this month) I was very happy to receive it because it is something from the heart. Sometimes when ...

Cherish the Treasure

Since I have some spare time at work, I have decided to blog, secretly. Today marks the 6 th month of my relationship with Nat. In my/our own world it actually felt like 6 years. Since the inception of our relationship, I have hope that it will be eternal.  Relationships of the past have been short term.  Just a bit from what I've read recently. As revealed in the first few chapters of Sex at Dawn , women prefers to settle down with men who protect and provide for them monetarily, whereas men get married to father children and spread their genes. I have not read the book completely but it attempts to explain the reasons behind infidelity.  Though it may seem like we, mankind are pragmatic, to a certain extend I agree.  Is true romantic love impossible?  Though I am one for the existing society norms and believe that monogamy is the way to go (unlike Samantha of Sex and the City) , I can comprehend the struggles to staying in a loveless re...
